Welcome to Dave Farrington, Jr. Motorsports!
Dave Farrington, Jr. finally comes through with a 2nd place finish:

6/20/09-
Dave Farrington, Jr. drove his #23 Fourth Generation Logging and Firewood, Captured Memories, Alpinestars, Chevy into victory lane saturday night at Wiscasset Raceway. Dave started fourth on the grid and was shuffed back to sixth at the start of the 35 lap Super Late Model race. The top three cars pulled away when Scott King and Chuck Colby got together in turn 1 but there was no caution. Farrington lost ground but moved by King quickly and was steadily chasing down Colby and the top 3. By lap 25, the top 5 cars were nose to tail. On lap 31 the front runners wrecked and Farrington came out unscaved. Dave was placed 2nd in the lineup after the caution, and the lengthy delay that took to clean the track caused misty rain to fall from the sky. The race was called after 31 laps and resulting in a second place finish for Dave Farrington, Jr. Dave wanted to give a special thank you to all of his crew for all their hard work and dedication.
Dave's next race will be the Pro All Stars Series 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on Friday June 26th.

Streak of Bad Luck continues at Wiscasset
5/30/09
Dave Farrington, Jr. returned back to Wiscasset saturday and felt confident going into the weekend. A full effort by crew member and metal fabricator Seamus Keith repaired the damage from the previous weeks crash. Only one round of practice is all the team needed as they parked the car until it was time for the heat race. Farrington battled from a 10th starting spot and worked the outside groove to race up to a 5th place finish in the heat race. In the feature race, Farrington again started 10th and was shuffled back a little ways at the start. But once the tires and the car came in, Farrington set sail on the outside groove once again. Every pass Farrington made was on the outside and in 20 laps, had worked his way up to 4th. Shortly after making the pass for fourth, bad luck struck again. Going into turn three the rear end locked up and twisted the drive shaft into two pieces. The car came to a hault in turn 1. A potential top three finish was gone mainly because of a broken Panhand Bar bracket. The month of May has been filled with poor luck. Farrington hopes to break that bad luck streak starting off a new month.
PASS North race at White Mountain
5/23/09
Dave Farrington, Jr. Motorsports took the scenic route up to White Mountain Motorsports Park for race number 4 of the Pro All Stars Series North tour. A torn hamstring slowed Farrington down outside of the race car, but all the feeling was gone once he climbed aboard the 23 Fourth Generation Logging & Firewood Chevy. Farrington started 20th for the feature, and began to fight his way up through the field. Farrington had worked his way up to 12th at one point. However on lap 51 everything came to a hault when Farrington was turned into the front stretch wall, ending his night. Farrington wound up 21st in a crazy crash filled event.
Dave Farrington, Jr. gives the PASS North tour a try
5/2/09
Opening day for Dave Farrington, Jr. did not take place at a local short track. The team decided to break out 2009 by competing against the best in the Pro All Stars Series North tour at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. After three rounds of practice and several adjustments, the car was finally competitive and in the top 15 on the speedcharts. However, a poor draw put Farrington behind the eight ball for most of the day. Farrington started 27th of a field of 32 Super Late Models. Once the green flag dropped, the race car began to handle poorly as Dave struggled until the first caution came out. Dave ducked down pit road for adjustments but nothing worked. After five more cautions and five more pit stops, the car was still handling poorly, but Farrington never gave up and drove the car home for a 23rd place finish.

Dave Farrington, Jr. wraps up season with a 9th place finish in the 100 Lap Open Pro Stock race, and finished the season with 5 top 10's in the last 6 races
It seemed as if the only thing that could stop Dave Farrington, Jr. Motorsports was the season coming to an end after the team rolled up 5 top 10 finishes in the last 6 races, averaging an 8th place finish over the final 6 races. A mechanical failure which resulted the loss of the clutch was the only thing that stopped Farrington from 6 top 10's in the last 6 races. The car and race team came on strong in the end after going through the learning curve of competing in the Super Late Model division. Farrington also came up half a car length short of a heat win in the last points race of the season.
The racing at Wiscasset Raceway in 2008 was rough and very competitive. The race team and the driver showed alot of improvement week after week and turned alot of heads. 2008 ended the 9 year streak of atleast earning a feature win for Dave Farrington, Jr. and 2008 was only the 2nd year out of 10 years in which Farrington did not earn a championship. The only other year he didn't win a championship was in his rookie year of karting. Farrington's rookie year of racing a Super Late Model is now in the books and the expectations are nothing but good for the future.
Overall Farrington had 6 top 10 finishes, with a best finish of 7th. Dave also earned a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finish in heat races during the year. Farrington wound up just 14 points out of the top 10 in points and 14 points from earning rookie of the year honors.

Friday July 18th - Regular Racing (No LMS)
Pits Open at 2. Practice at 4. Racing at 7pm
Dave Farrington, Jr. Motorsports continues to gain ground; Dave didn't put a scratch on the car but lost the track position game. Finished 16th.
The race team continues to fight to find the handle on the 23 Dale Shaw Race Car. Saturday night, the car was hooked up; however starting 17th on the grid and only having one caution on a rare unenfessted wreckfest, Dave simply could not advance up threw the field. The car handled the best it had all year in the 50 lap feature. The focus for now seems to be getting comfortable for now, once that is accomplished, speed is the next goal. It also seems that whoever starts up front pretty much finishes there. Dave just needs a break to be able to start up front in a feature and see where the car can go from there. Dave has already proved he can stay up front in a previous heat race weeks ago. Atleast this week the crew can find time to make the car faster instead of having to repair it. Two days after the race, the team spent over 7 hours on and off the scales trying to find the setup on the car. The team has already changed springs and shocks and some weight percentages and looks forward to see what the car will do now with the different setup. The rumor of competing in the Oxford 250 continues to conflict with Dave Farrington, Jr. Motorsports. That race is two weeks away and Dave will have no chance in competing in the biggest Late Model race in the country without some help. So that possibility continues to be in the minds of the race team. However, Dave will be back on the track this saturday night at Wiscasset Raceway. Races start at 5.
Dave couldn't avoid the wreckfest this weekend
June 22, 2008
Track position and avoiding the wrecks seemed to have been the way to go saturday night. Dave started 15th on the 22 car field and never was able to progress through the field. The competition is so close and equal that it makes passing for difficult. Dave was only 2 tenths off the leaders lap times but he was stuck in the traffic. And once the first caution came out, many more proceeded. Every restart was difficult because the leaders kept brake-checking and causing cars to pileup in the middle of the pack. Just past half way Dave found himself in 13th on another restart. Dave had a great restart and drove under a few cars and found himself in the top 10. A few laps later Dave was chasing down Charlie Colby when Dale Cullivan got sideways and caused a chain reaction behind him. Colby slammed on the brakes and it was too late for Dave. "I had a great run on him and I was quicker than he was. I was beginning to set him up and then everyone just stopped. I must have lifted him 6 feet in the air," Dave stated. The crash forced Dave to park it after 32 laps. There was nothing Dave could have done and everything happened so quick. Dave wound up with an 18th place finish and a front end to fix. The crew will be hard at work over the next two weeks getting the car repaired for the double header coming up July 5th and 6th. Looking at the damage though it could have been worse. Luckily the carbuerator wasn't damage when the air cleaner was swipped off. With the help from Seamus and Hilltop Collision Center, look forward to seeing Dave back on track in two weeks.
Next Race: July 5th Acord Auto present Regular Racing plus fireworks
Racing starts at 5. Hope to see you there!
Dave Farrington, Jr. brings it home in 12th.
- 6/7/08
A bad day wound up into a decent top 12 finish, and a car in one piece. Once again the Pro Stock race was filled with cautions. A long day was beginning to develop for Dave from the start of the day. After taking 5 hours to complete the SAT's Dave traveled up to Wiscasset and arrived after missing the first round of practice. The second round of practice was a good shake down of the car and I went well.. Then the luck started to turn. In the final practice Dave wanted to get his new tires scuffed in for the races. After three laps however a cut was found in his left rear. The team had to purchase a new tire and did not have a good tire match up for stagger wise. Starting on the outside pole in the fast heat race, Dave hung onto second for the first ten laps when Jeff Burgess got by. With only three laps remaining the dreaded caution flew for a spin in turn 4. Then on the restart, Dave spun the tires and lost it coming to the green. A good run gone bad basically is what Dave could descirbe it as. The caution was definitely not what Dave wanted. But the positive about this race was that it showed Dave can run in the front. Starting 18th in the feature , Dave expected to have to miss and dodge the wrecks happening in front of him. After the green flag flew, three laps in sure enough they had their first caution. Dave was able to move up to 12th in just three laps. From there caution after caution came out. Despite all the cautions the race did have a couple longer runs. The handling on the car however was a different story. The race car was bad loose during the race before Dave was hit by another car which knocked the toe in alot. After that contact, the car went to the tight side. It became a lot harder to turn and something may have been bent. Once all the dust settled Dave was able to get in a rhythm for the final laps and almost edged Scott King for 11th. "It was a devastating day for sure, we didn't have any luck, and the car setup just went away in the feature. It felt good to be running second and third in the heat race though right there with Scott Moore and Jeff Burgess. I had alot of fun running against those guys. Jeff ran me clean too and he managed to get by and I didn't challenge him too much because we had taken off from the rest of field. That caution sucked and it was the last thing I wanted to see." Dave added. Dave wants to thank his crew that showed up tonight including Dad and Mom, Seamus, Sam, and a big thanks goes out to Zack. He stepped it up without having Dorr there And tyler gray helped out this weekend. Thanks to him as well. Dave also wants to thank his great sponsors including Alpinestars, Fourth Generation Logging & Firewood, Atlantic Contracting & Specialties, Bill's Auto Transport, Hilltop Collision Center, and everyone else who helps out and keeps this race team going.
The debate about running the Pro All Stars Series race sunday June 15th at Wiscasset Raceway continues. The race team is still undecided whether they wanna compete in the PASS race or not.
But the next race for certain for Dave Farrington, Jr. Motorsports will be June 21st when Wiscasset Raceway and Soules Auto Supply preesents Regular Racing, Clarks Car Crushing Pro Stocks and Legends.

Dave Farrington, Jr. survives crash infested Pro Stock race to finish 8th and move into the top 10 in points.
Dave started 20th in a field of 23 Pro Stocks in the Dale Shaw Race Cars #23 and slowly moved his way up towards the front but he had to be real cautious with all the cautions that took place. Dave was able to bring home his first career top 10 finish in the Pro Stock in his 2nd race ever in the division. He definitely met his goals and learned quite a bit again this week. Once again it's all going to be a learning curve for Dave and his entire crew. Along with his 8th place finish, Dave will also move into the top 10 in points. It is currently unofficial but the official points should come out later this week. Without a heat race, the crew had one chance to get the car right. Once again the tires weren't perfect and the car's handling was a little off. "I can't blame the crew," Dave said. "We are all trying ideas and learning new things." From the beginning of the race the first couple of laps went without a wreck but shortly through the race, they started wrecking. "I remember the first wreck that took place on the front stretch. All I saw was smoke, and I thought I saw a way through the pile-up. Then I saw a red blur and just hung on and turned right to try and avoid it all. Somehow I came out unscaved through that big wreck. I knew I got lucky on that one," Dave said. But that was just a start to the crash fest in the Pro Stock feature. Several more cautions halted the feature. Dave was never able to get long green flag runs in but it may have been a good thing because the car was loose and was getting harder to drive every lap. The cautions were a benefit, but there was just too much crashing going on. "It's hard to get up there and get aggressive when they start wrecking, and keep wrecking. We'd have a caution and sure enough 3 to 5 laps later they began wrecking again. Some drivers out there are driving real aggressively and tearing up equipment. I did notice that drivers were giving me racing room and not beating on me. I want to gain drivers respect and I appreciate them giving me some room to race," Dave said. Once all the dust settled, the field had one more run at it after all the cautions. On the last green flag run, Dave was able to drive by several cars into the top 10 by lap 35. However, the race was cut back to 40 laps (prior scheduled to 50 laps) due to all the cautions. Dave was able to get a few more positions and crossed the line in 8th. He was climbing up through the field and if the race would have went 50 laps, Dave may have had a chance for a top 5. "After the fifth or sixth wreck, I knew drivers must have been settling down and the laps were winding down. I felt confident that they weren't going to wreck again and got up on the wheel a little more aggressively. Unfortunately we just ran out of laps really as we were digging for more spots," Dave also said. "I talked to Doug White (the owner) and he said it was just embarrassing to see those guys wrecking so much. Basically if you stay out of trouble and avoid the wrecks, you can finish in the top 15 respectively." Almost every car had atleast some damage from all the wrecks. Dave suffered just minor cosmetic damage but certainly brought the car home in one piece. "I'm definetely satisfied with a solid top 10," Dave later said. "We know we have a lot of potential to compete for a top 5 or even a win in the near future." Dave had some awesome help from a great crew sunday. Dave wants to thank Seamus, Earle, Toby, Tyler Dorr, Zack Dewar, and Dad and Mom ofcourse. Also Dave would like to thank his fine sponsors for their support. Without the crew and sponsors Dave Farrington, Jr. Motorsports wouldn't be able to compete on a weekly basis. Dave would like to thank Alpinestars, Fourth Generation Logging & Firewood, Atlantic Contracting & Specialties, Dale Shaw Race Cars, Bill's Auto Transport, Hilltop Collision Center, and everyone else who helps out. Dave will be back at Wiscasset this saturday as Harold C. Ralph Chevrolet Inc. presents Clarks Cars Crushing 50 Lap Pro Stock race plus regular racing. Once again Dave Farrington, Jr. Motorsports expects to be very competitive as they begin to build confidence and learn more information about what makes the car go. "Our goal like always is to finish in the top 10, keep the car in one piece, and keep learning new information." Dave will look to improve on his career best finish of 8th and keep steady in the top 10 in points. Dave Farrington, Jr. Motorsports hopes to see you at Wiscasset Raceway this Saturday at 2 pm!
